With this, he was named California Mr. Basketball for two consecutive times and he also emerged as the USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year.

High school days were soon over and the basketballer enrolled at the University of Arizona. He committed to the school basketball team, played in one season before announcing his intentions of joining the 2014 NBA Draft forgoing the remaining years of his collegiate career. That year, Aaron was picked by the Orlando Magic with the fourth overall pick.

After sealing his deal with the Magic on June 26, 2014, he joined the team for the 2014 NBA Summer League. Featuring in 11 games, the basketballer incurred a bone injury and was ruled out of the remaining seasons. On January 18, 2015, he made his comeback in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. Later on, in a battle against the Milwaukee Bucks, Aaron made his first career double-double scoring 10 points in addition to 12 rebounds leading to a 97-90 win.

He continued with the Orlando Magic the following season, played in three games and totalled an average of 21.7 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.7 blocks. His next career high was in a game against the Houston Rockets where he recorded 19 points. Afterwards, he featured in the Boston Celtics game on January 31, 2016, and recorded 14 rebounds leading to a 119-114 victory.

 The season became tougher and as the Magic progressed into the next phase, Aaron Gordon was noted as one of the skilled players in the court. They battled against the San Antonio Spurs, Aaron recorded 12 points and yet another career-high 16 rebounds. The basketballer seemed to be having fun in the game as he contested for the Slam Dunk contest in the 2016 NBA All-Star Weekend and emerged as the runner-up.

Subsequently, he recorded 19 points in a 130-114 loss against the Golden State Warriors. Just three days later, he recorded a new career high with 22 points in a victory against the Philadelphia 76ers. By the end of the season, Aaron Gordon scored a career high of 22 points in a loss to the Charlotte Hornets.

Come 2017, he was still glued with the Magic, participated in the team’s second dunk contest but wasn’t successful. Later on, he recorded 20 of his 32 points and 16 rebounds during the first half of the Magic’s loss to the Boston Celtics. By the end of the season, he recorded 32 points in addition to 12 rebounds in a victory over the Detriot Pistons.

Aaron extended his contract with the Orlando Magic on July 6, 2018, and in the team’s season opener, he scored 26 points in addition to 16 rebounds in a victory over the Miami Heat.
